TokVault Privacy Policy

What TokVault does

TokVault is a Chrome extension that helps users scan visible TikTok videos into a local-first content library, organize records with tags and notes, queue downloads when a direct file URL is available, and export their library data.

TokVault is intended for creator backup, organization, and repurposing workflows for videos the user owns or has permission to use.

What data is stored locally

• Saved video metadata
• Source URLs and normalized URLs
• Tags, notes, and workflow status
• Queue state
• Settings and local usage limits

This data is stored locally in the browser using Chrome extension storage and IndexedDB.

No selling of data

TokVault does not sell personal data.

No backend account required

TokVault does not currently require a backend account to use the extension and does not currently include third-party analytics or tracking scripts.

Permissions explanation

• storage: stores the local library, notes, settings, and usage limits
• downloads: queues downloads only when the user requests it and a direct file URL is available
• activeTab: interacts with the current TikTok tab the user has opened
• scripting: runs TokVault's page scanner on supported TikTok pages
• sidePanel: displays the TokVault interface in Chrome's side panel
• TikTok host permissions: scans visible video metadata on supported TikTok pages

User control, export, and delete

• Export the library as CSV or JSON
• Import a JSON backup
• Delete individual records
• Clear all local TokVault data

Platform restrictions and user responsibility

TokVault does not bypass platform restrictions. Download availability depends on what the TikTok page exposes. Users are responsible for saving and reusing only content they own or have permission to use.
